By default the end date is not counted, so 1 to 2 January is one day. Turn on "Include the end date" when both days count, as in holidays. ## How to use it 1. **Enter both dates.** The order does not matter: reversed dates are swapped for you. 2. **Decide on the end date.** Include it when the last day counts, such as for leave or rentals. 3. **Read the results.** See total days, weeks and months, and weekdays and weekends. ## Example From 1 January to 31 December 2026, not counting the end date: Input: ``` Start: 2026-01-01 End: 2026-12-31 ``` Output: ``` 0 years, 11 months and 30 days Total days: 364 Weeks and days: 52 weeks, 0 days ``` ## Common errors and how to fix them - **The result is one day short**: The end date is not counted by default. Turn on "Include the end date in the count". - **The weekday count seems too high**: Public holidays are counted as weekdays. Subtract those that apply to you. ## Frequently asked questions ### How many days are between two dates? Subtract the start date from the end date. Enter them here for the exact number, with leap years handled automatically. ### Should I include the end date? Include it when both the first and last days count, such as a Monday to Friday holiday of 5 days. Leave it off for elapsed time, such as days until an event. ### Are leap years counted? Yes. Every date follows the real calendar, including 29 February. ### Does it count working days? It counts weekdays, Monday to Friday. It does not know about public holidays, so subtract those for your country. ### How many weeks are between two dates? Total days divided by 7. The result shows whole weeks plus the remaining days. ### Why is 31 January to 1 March one month and one day? Adding a month to 31 January lands on the last day of February, as that month has no 31st. One more day reaches 1 March. ### Does daylight saving time change the result? No. The calculation uses calendar dates alone, so clock changes have no effect. ### Can I calculate my age with this?
