GTA San Andreas Cheat Codes for PC: The Complete Working List

GTA San Andreas has some of the most famous cheat codes in gaming. HESOYAM is practically a meme by now. Here are the PC codes that matter, how to enter them, and how to use them without damaging your progress.

I build Cheatly: Game Cheat Codes, a free offline cheat code app for iPhone and iPad, and the screenshots here come from it. If you want every code on your phone next to the controller, get Cheatly on the App Store.

How do I enter cheats in GTA San Andreas on PC?

1. Load your game and take control of CJ (not in a menu or cutscene).
2. Type the code on your keyboard. There is no box to type into, just type the letters.
3. If it worked, "Cheat activated" appears in the corner of the screen.

If nothing happens, type it again slowly. A single wrong letter means the code is not recognised.

What is HESOYAM on PlayStation and Xbox?

On consoles, cheats are button sequences entered during gameplay. On the original PlayStation 2 release, HESOYAM is R1, R2, L1, X, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up. On Xbox controllers, the equivalent is RB, RT, LB, A, then the same directions. Other versions can differ, so check the sequence for your exact release. Cheatly draws each sequence as button chips colour-matched to your controller.

Can cheats break my save?

They can. Some cheats change the game world in ways that persist after saving, and players have reported missions becoming impossible or stats being altered. Before using cheats:

• Save to a separate slot and keep one clean save that has never had cheats.
• Avoid saving straight after using cheats that change the world, like pedestrian or traffic cheats.
• Do not use cheats during a mission unless you want to experiment.
